Now Why Did He Do That?

Months ago I read that one of Prresident Obama’s first acts of interior decorating at the White House was to remove a bust of Sir Winston Churchill.  Some of you may remember a photograph of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, Sir Winston Churchill (OK, he was the Prime Minister of Great Britain during World War II) and Joseph Stalin sitting together smiling at the Treaty of Malta, which I think is when they decided the war was over and what to do about what was left of Germany.

This bust of Sir Winston Churchill had been in the White House for decades.  For the life of me, I could not figure out why Obama would remove it.  Other than the obvious, which to me was that Obama doesn’t want any Americans to remember that America once was great.  Churchill was extremely wise and prolific, and anecdotes of his life still circulate the internet to this day.

Then this morning I found this.

"Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance and the gospel of envy." –British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

Oh.  Now I get it.
